November has arrived and our charter season is over. 2017 was another busy year out on the water and Agnes has covered many miles. Spring was spent exploring Cornwall and the Scillies, before we headed north through the Irish sea to a rather wet, and certainly colder than our soft Cornish climate, Oban on Scotland’s west coast. Despite the weather we had some glorious sails and visited some stunning places. Agnes got rather battered on her way back south with relentless south-westerlies impeding her progress. Once home she had only 2 days rest before we crossed the Channel to sunny Brittany and Paimpol’s fete du chant. Back in Cornwall we swept through September as did the wind and storms blowing us into October. Agnes is now in her Penryn berth ready for her winter refit.
In Truro Luke, after having August off for sailing, is making quick progress with the Pellew. The framing was finished before the summer break and so planking began in earnest in September. We have a new team of 5 shipwrights, 3 of whom are there to further their boat building skills. We will keep you up to date with progress but Luke is hoping to have the planking done by Christmas, before starting in the deck in the New Year.
