44’ pilot cutter Hesper was launched in May 2004. The second vessel we built for this customer, originally owner of Lizzie May, then deciding to go for a larger more sophisticated vessel, that could stay at sea indefinitely, with a whisper generator, water maker, central heating, heated towel rail, and a bank of electronics. She is a powerful cutter with a fan-tail counter and deep V shaped sections. She has an impressive rig with a massive jack-yard tops’l.
A wining boat at the St Mawes Pilot Cutter race. She has cruised extensively, Azores, Spain, Portugal, France, and Ireland. A well run vessel, set up for long-term cruising, to be sailed by two. She has a habit of heaving to, on the high seas, for high tea of quail’s eggs and caviar, but gets driven hard, making her an exciting sail. Her home port was initially Fowey in Cornwall, but she has recently been sold abroad • PREVIOUS • NEXT
