Luke Powell
Director/Boat builder/ Skipper- Pellew
Luke is looking forward to laying down his tools and skipppering Pellew on her maiden season. He is looking forward to getting to know his newest boat and exploring Cornwall, Isles of Scilly and Brittany along the way.

Brendan Stewart
Skipper – Agnes
Brendan joined the team in January 2019 as the full time skipper of Agnes. Previous to that he skippered the Brixham trawler Pilgrim. He has had a long and varied career on boats, including working as a sail trainer, as a modern day pilot coxswain and commercial fisherman.

Sam Coltman
Skipper- Unity
Having worked with us on the build of Pellew Sam is now looking forward to skippering Unity this summer. Having sailing all his life and recently completed a solo trip down to Southern Portugal and back he is well seasoned and experienced sailor.

Jelta Hibma
Relief Skipper- Pellew/Agnes
The ever popular captian of Europa has sailed with us as skipper and race crew for the last few summer’s. He loves spending time out on the water and we are really looking forward to welcoming him onboard this summer when he comes to spend his time off from captaining his tall ship on our pilot cutters.

Jo Powell
Director/Operational Queen/Mate – Agnes
Having spent a life time involved in traditional wooden boats, including owning her own 1901 lugger Gladys Jo is dedicated to keeping the opearational side of Working sail moving.
Renowned for her delicious cooking on Agnes for many years she is stepping back to concentrate on running both boats next summer. She will be making guest appearances.

Melissa Williams
Office elf/Mate- Agnes
Having skippered Agnes in the 2017 season Melissa is now enjoying being the mate and cook onboard Agnes. Inbetween working in the office she is looking forward to getting out on the water this summer.

Holly Latham
Mate- Agnes
An experienced Shipwright and season sailor Holly joined Agnes as Mate at the end of summer 2019. She is looking forward to getting back onboard this summer to advetnure further afield to the Isles of Scilly and Ireland.

Gabriel Clarke
Mate- Pellew
Having previously skippered 54ft Eda Frandsen on the West coast of Scotland and taken his own boat Safe Arrival up to Greenland last summer Gabriel is looking forward to sailing onboard Pellew in her maiden season and exploring his home waters around Falmouth.

James Steevenson
Mate/Cook- Pellew/Agnes
Having previously worked as Mate on Eda Frandsen and Bessie Ellen James will be joining us onboard Pellew and Agnes at different times through out the summer. A talented cook and sailor we are sure to keep him busy this summer.

Jon Bray
Jon trained at Lowestoft Boat Building College before moving to South Wales to work on the rebuild of the Pickle. Back he Devon, then Cornwall, he built new boats for Butler & Co. In his spare time he built his own traditional sailing yacht, Unity. You can see her here: http://westcountrycutters.co.uk

Clyde Kramer
Clyde trained at Falmouth Marine College before moving to Bristol to spend 4 years building two pilot cutters for R B Boatbuilding. He moved back to Falmouth last Autumn to work on the Pellew and sail his own boat Peggy H.

Ned Rolt
Ned was born in Bristol and spent his youth in his shipwright fathers boatyard. So it became second nature to work on and love boats. He completed an apprenticeship at Rolt’s BoatYard, before taking up the opportunity to work with Luke here in Cornwall.
