TRIP 16 | Thursday 15 August – Wednesday 21 August | Isles of Scilly- Sail & Sketch

£875.00

Sail and sketch in the Scillies!

Claudia Myatt, marine artist and illustrator, will be on board Agnes with advice and encouragement to help you keep a ‘Carnet de Voyage’ – a sketchbook diary combining words and pictures to give you a personal record of your experience. Claudia is an inspirational teacher who firmly believes that sketching is for everyone, not just for artists:

The focus will be on sketching for pleasure rather than on creating finished paintings, making the most of the unique surroundings. At the end of the cruise you will go away with the beginnings of a visual travel diary, full of colourful fragments, notes, scribbles, inspirations and mistakes. The aim is to increase your ability to observe and appreciate what you see and create lasting memories in a way that photos often don’t quite manage.’

If you’ve always wanted learn to sketch but didn’t think you could, or if you’ve got some experience and need fresh inspiration, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn as you sail. Once we get to the islands there is plenty to do ashore, sketching, walking, wildlife watching or enjoying a sundowner at a small pub overlooking the islands.

Working Sail has a great knowledge of these Isles and will take you to secret bays and inlets not normally visited. Agnes will squeeze amongst the rocks to catch sight of basking seals and the odd puffin. Agnes has many friends among the local fishermen so there may even be the odd fresh mackerel or lobster for the pot to enjoy for dinner.

Our first sketch and sail trip filled up very quickly last year, so get in touch as soon as you can to reserve a place.  6 Nights. From Thursday 15 August 11am to  Wednesday 21 August 11am From FALMOUTH to FALMOUTH
